WHAT TO EXPECT: Worship is at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. All of us gather at the beginning of worship – adults, youth and children. After our opening praise time and a Faith Lab, our children and youth head off to Jr. Church. There they are engaged in interactive and experiential fun ways to discover God’s truth and Christ’s love!
You are welcome to come to worship AS YOU ARE. The dress is casual.
PARKING: There is parking on Highland and Prospect around the church building and in the back of the church building, there is an alley with plenty of parking.
HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE: There are several entrances into the church building, the handicapped entrance is on Prospect. We also have an elevette for those who may be in wheelchairs or walkers.
WORSHIP: We have a wonderful choir that leads us in worship during the fall, winter and spring. Folks are always welcome to join us. A variety of other worship services are held throughout the year on various holy days.
The sermons are Bible-centered and engaging.
FELLOWSHIP: People will be happy to meet you! There is a weekly time for fellowship following worship down in Bradford Hall and monthly potlucks.
SACRAMENTS: We celebrate two sacraments, because they are the only ones in which Jesus himself took part. They are baptism and communion.
BAPTISM: Baptisms are available by calling the pastor and expressing your desire to either be baptized or to baptize a child. We do baptism at any age and have held adult baptisms at the river as well as in worship. We believe that this Mystery of faith – of dying and rising with Christ is always a gift of grace, not one which we choose. Any and all are welcome to receive this gift, wherever you are on life’s journey. We simply want you to experience for yourself the love which God has poured out over you through Christ’s death and the promise God makes that we can become a new creation!
COMMUNION: Communion is shared in our congregation, the first week of every month and is an open communion. Even if you are not a member of a church, or haven’t even chosen Christ, we believe that Christ is interested in getting to know you. None of us are good enough to ‘deserve’ a seat at Christ’s table, but he welcomes us all by grace. We remember that he always sat with ‘sinners’ as the Scriptures tell us and so we come to the Table, knowing that we all arrive by grace. It is a reminder to us of Christ’s radical hospitality.
WEDDINGS and FUNERALS: You do not have to be a member of the Church in order to be married or buried from this place. Arrangements must be made with the office and pastor at least 4 months in advance for weddings.
