Feinstein $1 Million Giveaway
to Fight Hunger

Pierre Area Referral Service
will be participating in this program
again this year.

Donations received between
March 1 and April 30, 2010
will count towards the challenge.

This year we are able to count donations received
for BOTH the Pierre/Ft. Pierre Food Pantry
and the BackPack Food Program.
Donations can include cash, pledges, checks
and food items (we can record each food item
as $1 for this purpose).

Financial donations should be made out
to Pierre Area Referral Service,
and note “Feinstein Challenge” on your check
so it can be counted towards the
$1 Million Giveaway!

Last year, with your help,
we were able to collect
14,676 lbs. of food
as well as $8,549 in cash donations
for a total of $23,225
being reported to the Feinstein Foundation.

Last year a total of 1,243 assists
were made to local families;
representing 2,038 adults and 1,187 children.

We are also providing 300 sacks of food each week
to elementary children in Pierre and Ft. Pierre
to take home over the weekend
when no other food program is available.

American Cancer Society
Daffodil Days
March 15, 2010

American Cancer Society Daffodil Days
is a celebration of renewed life
and the coming of spring.
Daffodils are the first flower of spring
and a flower of hope
for families dealing with cancer.
Through its annual Daffodil Days campaign,
the American Cancer Society raises money for
cancer education, patient services &
lifesaving research.

The flowers will be available on March 15th.
Daffodils are a thoughtful way to say thank you
to a friend, neighbor or family member
who has been helpful
and they give encouragement
to anyone going through cancer.

Give Daffodils. Give Hope.
